Mr. Sanjay Vakharia is the co-founder and CEO of India's leading youth fashion denim brand, Spykar.
He has been instrumental in taking Spykar as a start-up to a Rs.550 crore conglomerate and a globally renowned brand. His journey started with co-founding Spykar then building the brand through his Marketing prowess.
The business was acquired by the Metdist Group from Prasad Pabrekar in 2014. The Metdist Group is owned by the Bagri family, led by Apurv Bagri. The group is a global conglomerate with diversified interests in metal, hospitality, fashion and technology. He is now the CEO of Spykar.
Before joining Spykar, Sanjay was associated with Magna Publications as Export Manager under the Garments sections, where he used to overlook the marketing network in the US and UK markets. Post launching Spykar in 1992, Sanjay would go on to expand and chart out a distribution strategy of retailing denim products into 500+ multi-brand clothing outlets across the country into Shoppers’ Stop, Lifestyle, Pyramid, Globus, Pantaloons, and more.
Under the aegis of his leadership, the brand continues to grow and innovate. Post the lockdown, they launched a stylish innerwear brand within Spykar called UnderJeans. They have also ventured majorly into women’s wear, expanding their existing portfolio for men. Accessories, footwear and bags are other product lines within the Spykar umbrella.

With his 29 years of experience in the lifestyle segment of the market, Sanjay believes in sharing his experiences with budding entrepreneurs and marketing enthusiasts. Recently he was the panellist and speaker at the Leadership Series held at Jio institute, sharing the platform with top industry leaders from fashion marketing and advertising. He was the key speaker at #ChangeMasters - India’s first and largest conference for future leaders of the Intimate wear Industry, sharing his knowledge and experience.
